Já lá vão 20 anos desde o dia em que a Inês começou a pôr no papel as suas primeiras ideias sobre a sua experiência como colaboradora do evento mais marcante do século XX em Portugal. Desde 1998 até agora, agosto de 2018, a cruzada para concretizar o seu projeto de publicar a sua história tem sido árdua e longa mas tem-lhe dado enorme satisfação e no processo ela tem tido muita inspiração.
A Inês acredita plenamente que tenha escrito uma história que interessa a toda a gente, independentemente de idades, sexo, cultura ou nacionalidade. A sua obra é tanto educativa, como hilariante, emocionante, cultural, inspiradora e cativante. A ler!
the book
20 years have gone by since the day Inês started putting on paper her first ideas about her experience as collaborator of the most remarkable event of the twentieth century in Portugal. From 1998 until now, August 2018, the crusade to realize her project of publishing her story has been arduous and long but has given her great satisfaction and, in the process, she has had a lot of inspiration and acquired knowledge in many different areas.
Inês fully believes that she has written a story fit for everyone, regardless the age, the gender, culture or nationality. Her work is both educational, hilarious, exciting, cultural, entertaining, inspiring and captivating. Good reading!

I read your book.Really enjoyed it.
I loved the idea of identifying people with marine animals; the analysis of some of the characteristics of the Portuguese society such as the excess of hierarchy and machismo and I also enjoyed the gift your boyfriend offers your team leader - the ‘sardine can’. I think this idea is a great lesson in life and a metaphor about an organization and the group.
I liked the main character’s change of feelings and the evolution of the way she sees people over time at the Expo. The great catalyst of the story is the public revelation of the diary –a true climax - the book becomes the character of the story which is interesting ... and allows you as writer to surpass some initial Manicheism and to understand that all the people have something ofoctopus, shark and dolphin ... O que a capa da obra 'Uma Equipa de Sonho' tem feito pela Inês:
Foi quando ela finalmente decidiu imprimir a obra passando-a de ficheiro digital a papel, que coisas extraordinárias começaram a acontecer. Ao depararem-se com o livro, as pessoas mostravam um comportamento diferente. De repente, e porque tinha um livro com o seu nome que podia mostrar, com uma capa extremamente atrativa, as pessoas tomavam-na a sério sem que ela tivesse que fazer grande esforço.
‘Qualquer pessoa acredita que eu sou uma escritora e que realmente escrevi o livro porque o vêm. Desde esse dia quando recebi os livros em mãos, os parabéns das pessoas (amigos, conhecidos, estranhos) seguem-se como chuva e a maioria das pessoas não sabe nada do conteúdo do livro. Tudo por causa da capa. A capa até agora tem provado que eu sou uma escritora mesmo que quase ninguém tenha ainda ouvido falar de mim. Por causa da capa toda a gente mostra interesse em saber do que se trata a história e ao falarem comigo as pessoas são simpáticas e mostram estar deveras interessados na minha pessoa. Para mim é uma felicidade perceber que desta forma as pessoas se interessam pela pessoa que no fundo já lá estava antes do livro. Estou desta maneira a promover o livro sem mesmo ainda ter começado o meu árduo trabalho de descobrir como o divulgar e de o divulgar.’

What the cover of the book ‘The Dream Team’ has done for the author:
When she finally decided to print the work from digital to paper, extraordinary things began to happen. People saw the book and showed a different behavior. People took her seriously without her having to strain because she had a book with her name that she could show, a book with an extremely appealing cover.
‘The day I received the books in my hand for the first time, was the day that congratulations of friends, acquaintances, and strangers started to follow like raindropsfall from the sky.At that moment it was because of the cover. So far, the cover has proven that I am a writer even though almost no one has heard of me. Everyone shows interest in knowing what the story is about and when they talk to me, people are nice and show that they are really interested in my work. For me it is a joy to experience this eventhough the arduous work of spreading the word about the story’s existence and promoting the book is yet to come. At least people feel happy at the sight of the cover.

A história começa com uma aventura que termina para a personagem principal, Evangeline. Sendo essa aventura uma boa experiência, Evangeline não se conforma com a rotina e anseia por outra. Ela adora aventuras.
Como é uma jovem cheia de ideias, dinâmica, rápida e persistente, magica maneira de fazer qualquer coisa diferente e não descansa até o conseguir. As suas aventuras acontecem em países diferentes com culturas diferentes, em continentes diferentes. A sua nova aventura toma lugar em Lisboa durante e na última grande exposição mundial do século XX, que se realiza de 22 de maio a 30 de setembro. Passa dos Estados Unidos da América e do seu contacto com Americanos, para Portugal e para o contacto com Portugueses. Em Portugal tem que se adaptar a uma nova cultura e a uma outra maneira de pensar.
Embora mostre algumas dificuldades em se adaptar à cultura portuguesa, o seu entusiasmo ajuda-a a ultrapassar obstáculos. A história descreve esses seus obstáculos e a maneira como a personagem lida com eles no desenrolar dos eventos. Evangeline acredita plenamente nas suas análises do que observa tornando as suas convicções quase verdades absolutas.
Guia os seus atos por estas convicções que também lhe mostram as escolhas a fazer e que direção a tomar. As suas escolhas fazem dela uma pessoa mais forte com auto-estima. Tudo isto faz com que a sua experiência em Portugal se torne num novo sucesso apesar dos obstáculos.
The story begins with an adventure that ends for the main character, Evangeline. We understand from the story that this adventure has been a good experience and Evangeline does not settle for routine and yearns for more adventures. She cannot stand still.
A young woman full of ideas, dynamic, fast and persistent, she has a magical way to do things and not rest until she achieves her goals. Her adventures take place in different countries with different cultures, in different continents. Her new adventure takes place in Lisbon during the last great world exhibition of the 20th century, which takes place from May 22 to September 30. She moves from the United States of America and herfamiliarity with Americans, to Portugal and to the new mentality of the Portuguese. In Portugal she has to adapt to a new culture and to another way of thinking.
Although she shows some difficulties in adapting to the Portuguese culture, her enthusiasm helps her to overcome obstacles. The story describes these obstacles and the way the character deals with them during the unfolding of events.
Evangeline fully believes in her analysis of what she observes by making her convictions almost absolute truths. She guides her actions by her convictions which also show guide her in choices to make and which direction to take. Her choices make her a stronger person with self-esteem. All this makes her experience in Portugal turn into another success with a little bit of magic along the way.

A MANEIRA DE ESCREVER
A maneira de escrever da autora transporta-nos com eficácia para o mundo da Expo’98. Há muitas partes hilariantes e sobretudo muitas partes cheias de emoção. Vão rolar lágrimas mas também vão haver muitos sorrisos:
“Durante o turno no CMS1, os assistentes masculinos passam as horas do turno a navegar na net em sites de pornografia. Ela olha de esguelha para as imagens em movimento e sente pena por ter de ser confrontada com pornografia e de trabalhar com colegas tão mal-educados”. Capitulo V, O começo da aventura – boatos, intrigas e competição, p.54
A RELAÇÃO COM O SUPERVISOR
A grande pergunta é: está Evangeline apaixonada pelo seu supervisor? Os seus colegas de equipa estão convencidos que sim. A relação entre supervisor e assistente é simplificada por todos. No entanto a relação entre os dois é tudo menos simples. Evangeline por vezes gosta do supervisor mas por vezes também não gosta. Acha-o um machista e um ultrapassado mas também o admira pelas suas qualidades de supervisor de grupo. Ele gosta de a fazer rir, ela gosta que ele a faça rir mas ele também a faz chorar. Ela não lhe consegue resistir e ele não deixa de a tentar provocar até ao fim.
A ler para interpretar.
LIÇÕES DE VIDA
Uma Equipa de Sonho na Exposição Mundial tem várias morais e várias mensagens. A primeira moral encontra-se no primeiro capitulo quando durante o filme “Titanic” os personagens se tornam iguais aos olhos uns dos outros face ao naufrágio independentemente das posses financeiras e estatuto social de cada um: “É fascinante o poder que o mar tem de destruir o ser humano de maneira implacável, fazendo com que classes e estatutos sociais se tornem insignificantes.” Capitulo I, Fascinação pelo mar, p.12.
Esta mesma mensagem encontramos de novo na história no fim da exposição quando pobres e ricos se misturam partilhando da mesma alegria nos últimos dias da Exposição.
“Mas que importa se se tem dinheiro ou não nestes últimos dias de Expo? Pobres e ricos misturam-se e todos partilham da mesma alegria dos últimos dias da Exposição.”Capitulo XVIII, O fim da exposição mundial, p.181.
Uma outra lição claramente descrita na história é que muitas vezes aqueles que pensam ser melhores que outros e que mostram arrogância acabam por não ser valorizados por ninguém. A modéstia e a humildade são qualidades que qualquer um deveria possuir pois é com estas qualidades que se chega longe. Exemplo de um personagem que demonstra grande arrogância e paga por este defeito é o Kalashnikov que não evolui durante a história. Alguns dos personagens desenvolvem-se no bom sentido tornando-se fortes. Este é o caso do supervisor de grupo que ao principio demonstra arrogância, e insegurança, mas no decorrer da história transforma-se num homem humilde e forte cujo o objetivo é fazer do seu grupo uma grande equipa.
Uma outra moral bem presente nesta história é que quando não se tem medo e se acredita no que se faz independentemente de avisos, ameaças e más línguas os frutos são semeados mais tarde. Evangeline acredita em si e no que faz por isso continua a sua escrita durante as horas mortas de turnos de trabalho. Embora tenha alguns receios faz o que lhe dita a consciência mesmo que mais tarde tenha que enfrentar as consequências. Enfrenta-as para a seguir ver frutos da sua perseverança.
Há muitas outras lições de vida por descobrir nesta maravilhosa história sobre o mar, peixes que se tornam pessoas e pessoas que se tornam peixes.
WRITING STYLE
The author's writing style transports us effectively to the world of Expo'98. There are many hilarious parts and above all many parts where emotions are well described and easily understood. Tears will flow but there will also be many smiles:
"During the shift in CMS1, male colleagues spend their working hours surfing porn sites. She glances sideways at the moving images and feels sorry for having to be confronted with pornography and working with such rude colleagues. ‘Chapter V, The Beginning of the Adventure - Rumors, Intrigues, and Competition’, p.54
THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE TEAM LEADER
The big question: is Evangeline in love with her supervisor? Her colleagues are convinced that she is. The relationship between supervisor and assistant is simplified by everyone. However, the relationship between the two is everything but simple. Sometimes Evangeline likes her team leader and sometimes she does not like him at all. She thinks he is a jerk and totally outdated in behaviour towards women, but she also admires him for his qualities as a group leader. He likes to make her laugh, she likes him to make her laugh, but he also makes her cry. She cannot resist him, and he does not stop trying to provoke her until the end. There are many possible interpretations when it comes to the complex relationship between these two characters.
LIFE LESSONS
A’ Dream Team at the World Exposition’ has several morals and messages. One of those morals is found in the first chapter when during description of the movie "Titanic" the movie characters find themselves in a situation (the shipwreck) where they become equal in each other's eyes regardless of each person’s financial possessions and social status: "It is fascinating the power the sea has to destroy the human being relentlessly, making social classes and statutes insignificant. "Chapter I, Fascination for the Sea’, p. 12.
We find this same moralagain at the end of the story when at the end of the exhibition the rich and the poor mix together and share the same joy in the last days of the Exhibition."But what does it matter if you have money or not in these last days of the Expo? Poor and rich mix together and all share the same euphory of the last days of the Exhibition. "Chapter XVIII, The End of the World Exposition”, p.181.
Another lesson clearly described in the story is that often those who think they are better than others and show arrogance, end up not being valued by anyone. Modesty and humility are qualities that anyone should possess because it is with these qualities that one reaches further. An example of a character who demonstrates great arrogance and pays for his fault is Kalashnikov who does not evolve during the story. Some of the characters develop in a good way by becoming strong. This is the case of the team leader, who first demonstrates arrogance and insecurity, but in the course of the story becomes a humble and strong man whose goal is to make his group a great team.
Another moral easily understood is that when you are not afraid and believe in yourself regardless warnings, threats and bad tongues, you see fruits be sown later. Evangeline believes in herself and in what she does, so she continues her writing during the dead hours of her work shifts. Although she has her fears, she does not do what she is told to do, even if she has to face consequences later.
There are many other lessons to discover in this wonderful story about the sea, a story where fish become people and people become fish.
